Nostalgia hits hard this time of year. I know we just had Emme’s first birthday and with that came a flood of memories, but Christmas comes with the history of Christmases past, dating back to my own childhood.
Playing Santa is one of the best things about being a mommy myself now and it makes me feel very adult. I’ll always think back to our first Christmas as parents, nursing and rocking 8-month-old Reece to sleep at the end of a fun-filled day, my heart so full.
This is what I’ve been waiting for, I thought as I snuggled him closer. This is what makes being a parent so wonderful.
Here we are once again, nearly at the peak of all our holiday festivities and preparation, and I cannot wait to experience it all with my toddler and preschooler. Emme was around last Christmas, of course, but now she’s old enough to enjoy it too, which will make it even more fun.
Our Christmas cards made it out just in time, so I wanted to post our family pictures that I love so much, taken by the talented rosanne parket photography. I also went back and looked at our pictures from the same time last year and it’s just amazing how quickly the kids grow. I’m so glad we have such wonderful pictures to capture these years.
So here they are, some favorites from this year and never before seen newborn ones from last year (because I forgot to post them on Facebook after our Christmas cards finally went out).
Seriously, model material here 🙂

It was hard enough narrow it down to these few pictures out of the bunch that we have. This might be the motivation I need to actually get some printed and displayed in our home! Of course, I have my favorite pictures I’ve taken with my own camera over the past year (actually, with my phone only these days), but there’s nothing like professional photos to capture the beauty in your family.
Getting another post out in the next couple of days might not happen, so if you don’t hear from me again, have a merry Christmas, everyone! Enjoy the precious time with your families and hold those babies close, seeing the magic of Christmas through their joy-filled eyes.
We have been using rosanne parket photography for years and this post is not sponsored. Rosie is a friend of ours who just happens to be an amazing photographer.
