Friday Faves

A late Friday Faves post today, right before I head over to one of my Pilates certification classes. I’ll be doing a lot of that in the next month, which I’m super excited about!

It goes without saying that my #1 favorite thing this week is the amazing January weather. I cannot get over how gorgeous it is outside. Hopefully we’ll get in a couple more beach days before Mother Nature remembers this is supposed to be the rainy season.

The spring-like weather also makes for great outdoor runs. My in laws watched my kids yesterday so I could get my hair done, and I dropped them off earlier than I needed to so I could get a run in beforehand. Los Gatos Beauty Bar (hi, Amy!) is located near a really nice trail and this run was the complete opposite of my last outdoor trail run. There was a decent amount of shade from the trees, it was entirely near either a creek or a lake and there were enough little hills to keep things interesting. I did a nice 4 miles and actually ran my best time ever for a steady state run, since I was partially motivated by making it to my hair appointment on time. I’m looking forward to doing it again sometime.

I frequently use one at the gym, but I’ve been wanting to have one at home for awhile so I can roll out my sore muscles whenever I need to. It will also be useful for some Pilates exercises.

Speaking of Pilates, I finally went to class today after nearly a month off! I haven’t been able to make it because of us all being sick so frequently, so class was extra enjoyable and it was nice to lead a portion of it after such a long time.

Plus, I wore some new Lululemon that I’ve been saving for the occasion. Makes any workout better! Love these In the Flow Crops.

I had an early breakfast with Emme today and needed some sustenance before my workout, so I grabbed a Larabar ALT Bar.

I love Larabars in general, but I find these ones to be especially good at holding me over between meals and fueling me through a workout.
