**This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to Tessa for winning the Puritan’s Pride summer hair care package!**
For the next few months, I’ll be participating in a summer series to review personal care products provided to me by Puritan’s Pride. All opinions are my own and the best news for you? Each month’s product review will include a giveaway of everything reviewed! I’m participating with Fitness Mom Wine Country, Confessions of a Mother Runner and Brie Hemmingway, so hop over to their blogs for more chances to win!
May’s theme is summer hair, next month you can look forward to summer skin care and in July the theme is all things summer!
As a curly-haired girl, the phrase “Summer Hair” brings up scary recollections from adolescence of my already frizzy hair turning into a bigger, poofier, unmanageable fuzzball in the NY humidity. Moving to dry CA has somewhat tamed this issue–along with a variety of hair products and styling techniques–but, needless to say, I’ve always been very conscious of what products I use on my hair.
In high school, I used to volunteer to go grocery shopping just so I could browse the hair care aisle and pick out new things to try. I still love trying new products, so you can imagine my excitement then when this package of new hair products showed up on my porch. A whole box of new hair products, just for me! (I’d love for you to get your own box too, so make sure to enter below!)
The products in my shipment included:
A lot of these products are buy 1, get TWO free right now, so go ahead and check them out!
Since my high school years, I’ve become much more conscious about the ingredients in personal care products, so I was happy to hear that all of these from Puritan’s Pride are made without parabens. This is great because parabens are known hormone disrupters which pose a host of possible health risks (and they hide in things like children’s toothpaste! Fabulous, right? 🙁 )
Speaking of ingredients, check out the major difference in the ingredients between Puritan’s Pride Moroccan Argan Oil vs another brand I had at home.
Major difference! I’ll take the Puritan’s Pride organic 100% Moroccan Argan Oil over the mess of ingredients in the other one any day!
I used both the coconut oil and Argan Oil on the ends of my hair interchangeably (a tiny bit goes a long way!) and they both worked well, conditioning my hair and making it soft. A tiny dab in Emme’s hair also works well as a leave-in conditioner of sorts. I also used the coconut oil as a body lotion, which was especially useful after we moved back into our home and couldn’t find our usual lotion.
My favorite of the shampoos and conditioners was definitely the coconut oil ones. They made my hair soft and the rich coconut smell made me feel like I was on vacation.
I’ve heard a lot about biotin–an ingredient that’s supposed to be great for hair, skin and nails–but had never tried it before until now. I’m not usually a supplement person and I think it’s too soon to tell if there’s any benefit from using these biotin products, but the supplement also includes folic acid and vitamin C, which are important for overall health.
Now are you ready for your chance to win all of these products for yourself? Simply leave a comment to enter and I’ll use a random number generator to choose the winner. Winner will be announced Thursday May 28!
Thank you, Puritan’s Pride, for providing these products for both me and one of my readers!
