I am so beyond excited to announce that one year after initially looking into it, nine months after taking the coursework and many many hours of practice, teaching and studying I am officially a Mat Pilates Instructor through Balanced Body!
My test out was about two weeks ago and I would’ve told you guys, but I was afraid of jinxing myself. Well, I shouldn’t have been nervous because I actually scored very highly on the test, passing with flying colors! Perhaps it was due to the encouraging note my hubby left in car that morning.
Laura from Precise Pilates SF was my “body” for the practical portion of the exam and it was nice having a fellow instructor to teach. I did feel bad for her, though, because it seemed like she was the one being tested since she was doing the exercises solo while I led her through them for the exam.
I’m so thankful I passed and am thrilled to finally be official!
As per usual for my Sunday post, here’s what my workouts looked like this week:
Monday: Teach Pilates
Tuesday: Teach Pilates + 10 min stair master
Wednesday: Teach Pilates
Thursday: One hour cardio (Treadmill intervals, AMT, stair master) + Teach Pilates
Friday: Teach Pilates + Upper body free weights
Saturday: 2-mile round trip stroller run to the farmer’s market+ weighted squats and lunges
Sunday: 2-mile round trip run to Target
Yes, you read that right–I teach Pilates every weekday now that I’m working at two gyms. This week I’ll have some days where I teach twice a day. It’s so important that I get my own workouts in in addition to teaching.
Today I was able to squeeze in exercise by running to Target while my husband drove the kids there. We met up for shopping and then I ran home while he drove back with the kids. Worked out pretty well!
Do you have any tricks for sneaking in a workout?
