Here in Silicon Valley, we enjoyed a beautiful Thanksgiving Day with 70 degree weather. Just a couple days later, the rain set in in a way we haven’t seen in a few years. We took our cue and cozied up with books and movies in front of a fireplace.
Even though we’ve entered the first holiday season without my mom, we enjoyed a nice Thanksgiving with our family. Other than the meal, it definitely felt more like Christmas thanks to it being Emme’s birthday and Reece getting his fair share of big brother presents.
Don’t be fooled by my girl’s current love for ballerinas, tutus and the color purple, she’s a rough and tough little one and she loves big brother’s trucks.
Saturday we had planned to head to a local amusement park with Reece’s friends, but the rain was too heavy and we ended up staying inside baking cookies, with a fire going and the movie Elf playing in the background. Not a bad change of plans!
Sunday brought more rain and it was nice to settle in with legos and new books.
We did have to head out in the rain a couple times to walk the dog since our backyard is a mud pit right now, but that just added to the fun.
The sun came out for a bit and we got up a few Christmas decorations and enjoyed a Rudolph movie and a fire at home.
All in all, it was a cozy weekend and good way to welcome the Christmas season.
