A Simple and Enjoyable Weekend

Happy Monday, lovely readers! I hope you are all having a very enjoyable official first day of fall!

We had a simple weekend with some family time, some friend time and lots of hanging around the house.

I always feel like the weekends start on Friday and that’s when we tried out a a new bike trail that had some hills, which didn’t go over so well with Reece. We still had fun at the park there anyway.

We also met my friends’ brand new baby and would you believe I didn’t take any pictures of that little cutie? I was too busy enjoying the baby snuggles that I didn’t even think to ask them to take a picture.

On Saturday we had dinner at my in laws where Reece got a new fishing pole to take on our upcoming camping trip. He loves it and has been enjoying practicing casting.

I also tried making this pumpkin dessert.

faux pumpkin ice cream

The flavor came out really good, but I haven’t quite figured out how to eat it yet because so far it’s either been not frozen enough or too frozen and taking too long to thaw enough to scoop. I also want to ruin the healthy qualities of it by topping it with whipped cream. 🙂

Sunday was another day of just hanging around the house, but we ended it by having some friends over for dinner.

That little bowl to the right? Tequila lime marcona almonds from Whole Foods. Yum!

I’m definitely looking forward to eating the leftover turkey pumpkin chili I made for lunch!

How was your weekend?

Have you made any pumpkin recipes lately?
