This Week in Workouts: Pilates Everyday

Hope this post finds you enjoying the last few hours of your weekend! I’m enjoying the end of a rest day, which is what my body was craving. I typically like to take a BodyPump class on Sunday, but after teaching seven Pilates classes this week, I decided to take a break.

I was happy I managed to get in a couple of cardio sessions even though I didn’t manage to work in any weights. It’s still a challenge getting in my own exercise when I teach Pilates nearly everyday. Unless I become certified in multiple formats, I think it will continue to be challenging, so that’s something I’m starting to look into.

Here’s what my workouts looked like this week:

Monday: Strength/Flexibility – Teach Pilates
Tuesday: Strength/Flexibility + Cardio – Teach Pilates + 2-mile run with 5 min speed surge
Wednesday: Strength/Flexibility + Cardio – Teach Pilates + 3 rounds Tabata
Thursday: Strength/Flexibility – Teach Pilates
Friday: Strength/Flexibility – Teach Pilates
Saturday: Strength/Flexibility – Teach Pilates
Sunday: OFF

Since I hadn’t done any cardio the week before, Tuesday’s run was to get back in the swing of things. The 5-min speed surge I threw in at the end was extra tough, but it felt good to get my heart rate pumping again. I was also able to get in a few rounds of Tabata before my class on Wednesday and was glad for that since I wasn’t able to fit anything else in except Pilates the rest of the week.

You know what’s always motivating to get in a good workout? New workout clothes!

In case you missed it, I wrote over at Calio last week, sharing some of the best places to get deals on workout gear. There’s no need to break the bank to find clothes that make you feel good and look good. I even secured a discount for you at Cory Vines, where you can find quality, cute and comfortable clothing for fitness and everyday — just enter code fitmama10 at checkout to get $10 off your puchase*!

Have a relaxing evening!
