This week was filled with lots and lots of Pilates, which will be the norm from here on out. My YMCA has given me a Pilates class on Wednesday evenings to volunteer teach while I work on my certification. I’m super excited to have my own regular class to make sure I get in the teaching hours I need. I’ll have to teach at least another class or two a week–in addition to taking a Pilates class for my own personal practice–if I don’t want it to take nearly a year to get officially certified.
This week had three rest days in it, just because that’s how things worked out, but with the doubling up of workouts a couple days thanks to teaching Pilates, I think it was a good balance.
Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: 25 min HIIT on the stationary bike (30 seconds hard, 30 seconds easy) + 25 min steady on the treadmill + teach one-hour Pilates class
Wednesday: Teach one hour Pilates + Take one hour Pilates
Thursday: 15 min HIIT treadmill (30 seconds hard, 30 seconds easy) + 20 min steady treamill
Friday: Rest Day
Saturday: Rest Day
Sunday: Full body blast circuit from NutButterRunner + 2.5 mile outdoor run with sprints (I accidentally typed “fun.” Do I actually think running can be fun nowadays?? All I know is I got about 3-4 hours of sleep last night because Emme is sick and I feel pretty dang good after that workout.)
So what’s in store for this week? More Pilates! This Wednesday is my first class at the Y, so I’m glad I’ve had a chance to practice on friends and family first, and I’ll probably do a run-through on Doug before then. Local friends who are members of the Y, I’d love to have you at my first class!
What did your workouts look like this week? Have you taken Pilates?
