This Week in Workouts: Pilates, Pilates, Pilates!

I’ve been MIA over here for a bit thanks to our LA vacation and having a very good friend in town with her family. I did, however, post some workout love for you over at Calio, so check it out for a way to tone up even on your laziest of days!

Over here, I’ve stuck with Pilates all week, simply because I wanted to enjoy as much time as possible with my friend without anything besides my teaching schedule getting in the way. It was fun to have her take one of my classes with me!

Sweaty Pilates
Check out my back–sweatiest Pilates class ever!

It was a wise choice and now I’m looking forward to adding cardio and weights back into my routine.

Here’s what my workouts looked like this week:

Monday: Strength/Flexibility – Teach Pilates
Tuesday: Strength/Flexibility – Teach Pilates
Wednesday: Strength/Flexibility – Teach Pilates
Thursday: Strength/Flexibility – Teach Pilates x2
Friday: Strength/Flexibility – Teach Pilates
Saturday: Cardio – Walk/jog 2 miles
Sunday: OFF

Saturday’s walk/jog was a way for me to be active while being outside with the kids. We drove to a cute nearby town and then they road their bikes about a mile to the park while I walked/jogged along with them. It’s one of my favorite ways to be active with them and it felt good to shake out my legs and get my heart pumping a little.

Sometimes a break in our routine is good for our bodies. I could have made it to BodyPump today like usual, but I decided to take a full day of rest before really getting back at it tomorrow.

I’m feeling motivated and refreshed and think I might tackle Fitnessista’s Winter Shape Up from the beginning since I missed out on the last two weeks.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  • Had a great time at your class! I was very impressed and I’m still sore! Wish I could take it all the time! (Just not 6 times per week, that I couldn’t handle!)

  • How fun to have a friend in your class! Unfortunately my gym doesn’t offer Pilates classes, but I’ll do some barre workouts online to change it up and I’m surprised how sore I am from it, since I don’t get as sore from cardio or weights. I guess my body is not used to it?
